Sun and Jupiter face each other across the zodiac today, an opposition, read as a pull between the two ends of one axis. The Moon is in Aries, a young crescent growing in the evening sky. Mercury is retrograde.

What does the Sun or Moon in Aries mean?

Aries is the first sign of the tropical zodiac, a cardinal fire sign ruled by Mars, and it reads as the urge to begin something before you are completely ready.

When the Sun is in Aries the theme runs for about a month, roughly late March into late April, and it colours the whole season. When the Moon is in Aries it lasts about two and a half days and reads more like a passing mood: quick to react, quick to move on, easily bored by the part where you wait.

Cardinal means it starts things. Fire means it runs on enthusiasm rather than on evidence. Together that makes Aries good at the first step and less interested in the middle of the job, which is more useful to notice about yourself than to argue with.

Undersky uses the tropical zodiac, so Aries begins at the March equinox rather than at a group of stars. The sign is a measurement of where a body sits relative to the seasons, and today's page simply reports it.
