Mercury stations retrograde today, pausing before its long apparent backtrack. The Moon is in Virgo, near its first quarter, climbing toward full.

What does the Sun or Moon in Virgo mean?

Virgo is a mutable earth sign ruled by Mercury, and it reads as the attention that improves a thing by looking closely at how it actually works.

A Virgo Sun runs about a month, roughly late August into late September, the harvest end of the season. A Virgo Moon lasts about two and a half days and tends to read as wanting the small stuff handled: the list, the laundry, the message you have been meaning to send.

Mutable means it adjusts as it goes, and earth means it works with real materials and real constraints. The strain in Virgo is that the same eye that catches errors can turn on you, and deciding what is worth fixing is a judgement you get to make rather than one the sky makes for you.

The sign is measured from the equinox in the tropical system Undersky uses, so it tracks the season rather than the constellation of the same name.
